Bra Technology
The logic and technology behind Sturdy Girl Sports bras Our bras are designed to solve specific problems and we used some cool technology to do it. Problems solved:
How we did it: Patent-pending technology: Between the outer and inner layer of our bras there is a middle layer that includes a clever configuration of power mesh bands that surround each breast. Nipple covers are sewn onto that power mesh structure. This middle layer creates the base of each Sturdy Girl Sports bra. The power mesh bands, combined with compression fabrics and the overall racer back bra design, greatly minimize bounce and provide high support solving problem 1. Inner layer: The inner layer of our bras uses a specially knitted, high-wicking, mesh-like spacer fabric that is molded into cups to encapsulate each breast (no underwire because we hate that in a sports bra). Depending on the size and shape of your breasts, they may still merge together slightly because we did not employ an underwire to force them apart. The spacer fabric in conjunction with the nipple cover dampens the headlights solving problem 2. Pullover style: Our bras are designed without hooks and closures which means you need to pull them over your head to get them on. We did this to solve problems 3 and 4: “no rubbing or chafing” and “not look like underwear”. It additionally solves the problem of bra failure when hook and eye closures get bent or twisted over time and use. There is nothing to break on our bras. There are no connection points to abrade your skin. The trade off: There is a trade off for everything and the trade off here is that pullover style bras require some flexibility and effort to put on and take off. Our bras get easier to put on and take off over time because they stretch slightly with usage and because you will get better at the motion. Check out our Wiggle Not Jiggle page for guidelines about putting on and taking off our bras. |
